AAAAHHH!!! PLEASE don't use plastic bristles!! They can snag the hair, and add static electricity, so I'm told.

I bought a used AG brush from ebay over a year and a half ago(when I first started collecting), and it's still going strong--all bristles, like new. Of course, mine is plastic, and says Pleasant Company on the back. My niece just got her first AG (Molly) a few months ago, and a hairbrush, too. Her hairbrush has a wooden handle, and says American Girl on the back--it looks sturdier, too. I'm thinking I'll get one of those as a backup---I'm always laying mine down, and then having to look all over for it.

The AG brushes are good quality, and a good investment--I highly recommend one! (The right tool for the right job, and all that.)

If you think they're overpriced, you can try ebay to save a buck or two, but you'll get it faster if you just order one from AG.

Just my humble opinion...
